CASM: A Cost-Aware Switch Migration Strategy for Elastic Optical Inter-Datacenter Networks

In inter-datacenter elastic optical networks, multi-controller deployment is adopted to improve the stability and scalability of control plane. As network scale increases, traditional scheme ignores dynamic characteristics traffic, resulting in unbalanced load among multiple controllers. response this problem, existing switch migration mechanism proposed achieve balanced distribution loads. However, most research work does not consider additional cost migration, balancing performance controller significantly improved after migration. paper, we propose a cost-aware (CASM) strategy for balancing. The CASM first measures through indicators that affect load, then judges whether overloaded or underloaded based on controller’s time request message, thereby improving controller. Additionally, when selecting be migrated, selects optimal minimizing cost, reducing evaluation shows improves controllers reduces compared solutions.
